AARON PHILLIPS WRESTLES LIVE ALLIGATORS TO PREPARE FOR THE FIRST WFC PROFESSIONAL MMA WORLD TITLE FIGHT!

WFC 35, BELLE OF BATON ROUGE CASINO, BATON ROUGE, LA

BATON ROUGE, LA – FEBRUARY 12TH, 2015 World Fighting Championships is proud to announce the WFC 35 First Professional MMA Title Fight – Aaron Phillips (5 wins, 2 losses) steps across the cage from Chris Gutierrez (6 wins, 1 loss) for a five round battle to earn the Bantamweight World Title. WFC 35 goes down on February 28th, 2015, featuring the best local MMA talent that Louisiana has to offer.

“We have been saying over and over big things are coming to Baton Rouge and we are ready to make good on that promise. Aaron Phillips is one of the most exciting fighters in the cage I’ve ever seen – and he wrestles alligators.   Chris Gutierrez is deadly in his striking. Both of these guys are skyrocketing to the top. I’ve waited two years to announce the first professional MMA title fight for World Fighting Championships.” – Matt McGovern, President, World Fighting Championships.

When asked how he prepares to earn the first professional title, Aaron Phillips didn’t under-deliver in his response: “I ride a fan boat down to the Atchafalaya Basin three days a week to wrestle live alligators! Chris Gutierrez wants to make his name off beating me for this title. Although he has some dangerous weapons, so do I. I promise this will be an amazing battle.”

Chris Gutierrez paints the picture from his side: “I started MMA when I was 16 years old. I started training so I could defend myself and fell in love. This is not going to be an easy fight for either of us. But I have the best team and coach in Rob Stucker at Chop Shop MMA. I’m super excited to be part of the first WFC professional title fight – I’ll be even more excited when that belt is wrapped around my waste!”

This fight card is STACKED with many new fighters joining some WFC veterans who made the 2014 WFC highlight reel of finishes: Trent Meaux, Joshua Davila, Gage Duhon, Josh Quayhagen, Zach Fears, Brandon Shavers, Curtis Bossier, Ross Stevenson, and more.

The official WFC 35 weigh-in will take place on Friday, February 27th at Atrium in the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino at 6pm. The weigh-ins are open to the public.

Tickets start at $25 for general admission and are available through the WFC website at worldfightingchampionships.com. Fans are encouraged to buy tickets early, as the best seats sell out early.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. on fight night. First fight is at 8:00 p.m.
